This Week @ Journey September 10-14

Welcome to our first full week back. Communication between school and home is important and we now have new Journey App! Reminder that all forms (paper and online) are due by Friday, Sept. 14.

Monday 

Band Rotations for registered students in all grades begin today. Please remember your instrument (if you already have yours). Ms. Bjorklund will let you know which days are your practice days.

Hockey Academy begins today. Mr. Elm will have sent all participants the information needed for your first day.

Tuesday

Tea in the Foyer @ recess – all students are welcome to stop by with their mugs and get a cup of herbal tea compliments of Ms. Shannon. If you forget your cup today she will have a disposable one for you!

Creamsicle Sales outside kitchen @ lunch $2 each.

Skatepark club @ lunch break – You can bring skateboards, scooters, BMX bikes (no mountain bikes) or rollerblades and join this fast paced club. Students must have waivers signed (available in the office) and you must bring the required equipment to participate.

PAC Meeting tonight in the library @ 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend and we look forward to meeting everyone.

Wednesday 

Lunch-Pizza Sales @ lunch. Pizza is $3.50 per slice (choice of pepperoni, cheese and Hawaiian). Chips and juice boxes also available to purchase. Munch Cards and cash accepted.

Skatepark club @ lunch break (see info above)

Grade 6 Instrument rental night–5-7 p.m. in the foyer at Journey this evening.

Thursday

Fire Drill #1 right after announcements in the morning. Students will take part in the first of six Fire Drills. Two earthquake drills, one hold and secure and one lockdown drill will also take place at Journey this year.

Friday

Welcome Back Assembly 10:45 in the gym followed by our annual PAC BBQ at noon. Each student will receive one hotdog and one drink compliments of our generous PAC. Vegetarian options will be available.

Freezie Sales outside kitchen $1

Exploratory Forms go home with students today. Please read the information at the top of the form carefully. ALL requirements need to met to have the form accepted. We will begin to collect forms on Tuesday, September 18 at 7:30 a.m. in the foyer. Students must NOT hand in forms to their classroom teachers. Some choices fill up faster than others so we number each form in the order we receive them.

Saturday 8:15–1pm—Gr. 6 Band camp at Belmont Sec. All band students should come–bring instrument.  Bus leave from JMS at 8:15 am. Chaperones are still needed, please contact Ms. Bjorklund if you would like to come along on this trip.
