Last two Weeks @ Journey June 18-27

Happy Father’s Day Weekend. This is it – the last 8 days of 2017-18 school year! Thank you to all parents, especially our PAC, for being so supportive. There are lots of activities planned and assignments to finish up as we begin the countdown. It’s a time of excitement and sometimes a little worry as students prepare for summer vacation and start wondering about next year. Enjoy the moments, but remember our expectations regarding behaviour remain the same.

Monday, June 18 

Gr. 7 Beach Day to China Beach – Grade seven students are off to China Beach today. Remember your lunch, snacks, water and sunscreen. 

Ms. Lennox and Mr. Sulzen’s classes are off to Thetis Lake

Ms. Stannard’s class is selling ice cream sandwiches during lunchtime

Parks and Environmental Services for the District of Sooke is seeking input from our students and staff and invites everyone to stop by Mrs. Abell’s classroom at lunch to discuss Sunriver bridge 

Tuesday, June 19 

Grade 8 Playland Trip – all day 

Div. 8 is selling creamy treats today at lunch

Ms. Stannard’s class is walking to the library and later selling ice cream sandwiches during lunchtime 

Wednesday, 20 

Pizza Lunch – $3.50 per slice (last Wednesday lunch of the year) 

Band Freezie Sales @ Lunch – The Band is fundraising by selling Freezies at lunch today for $1 outside the kitchen.

Thursday, 21 – National Indigenous Peoples’ Day

Jouro – Journey’s very own soccer tournament. Each class has a colour theme and is encouraged to show their spirit as all classes have been assigned a team. Points for cheering!

Friday, 22 

Jouro Finals/Fun Day- Today we crown the winners of our annual Jouro and enjoy games, dunk tank, donut machine, refreshments, freezies, ice-cream and more. Every student will receive a free hotdog at Mrs. S & Mr. B’s hotdog stand, but bring some cash for the other treats.

Wednesday, 27 – Last day of school

Grade 8 Bon Voyage 10:30 – families of grade 8 students are welcome to attend. Pot Luck lunch for students to follow the event at noon.

 Thursday, 28 – No classes for students 

Report Card pick up day – students/families may pick up report cards today between 9-3 p.m. from the classroom teacher. All report cards not picked up will be available in the office for pick up Friday 8-noon and July 5-8, 8-3 p.m. Report cards will not be mailed.
