Congratulations to the students from Mt. Olympus Neighbourhood who participated in the annual Pi Contest. First place goes to Evan N. with a whopping 197 digits memorized, Payton C. with 116 and Brennan H. with 71! Other students who did very well were: Brody R.; Rylee C.; Lilly S.; and Alyssa T. Congratulations also to our Girls’ Rugby Team for their convincing win over St. Michael’s school last week! Good luck at Stelly’s this week.

Thank you/Merci/Kleco Kleco to Ms. Kiefert’s class who successfully raised salmon fry from eggs to fry in their cold-water incubator in their classroom.  The salmon fry were released into DeMamiel Creek by the students after they had a special blessing from T’Sou-ke Elder, Ms. Shirley Alphonse.

Parent/Teacher Conferences 1-3 pm and Open House 5-7:30. Come out and check out what’s been happening at Journey and chat with our staff. There will be musical numbers by our Rock ‘n Roll students, Concert Band and Jazz Band. Classes will have displays and interactive activities – pottery, social studies maps and projects, slide shows of student photography. Our Art classes have also been busy and art from almost every student in the school will be on display in the foyer and hallways.

Journey’s Annual Scholastic Spring Book Fair. The Book Fair profits go towards purchasing books for homeroom class libraries. So be sure to come out and buy a book to read.

Thank you to all who donated to our scrap metal drive!

We also would like to give a big Thank You to Sooke Disposal for donation of the bin and all the extra help with clean up as well as Ground Effects Excavating who help with clean up. Your help made all the difference. Thank you!

Volunteers needed! Our PAC lunch program is always looking for helpers. If you have 1 hour a month on Wednesdays 11:30-12:30 please email Ken pacdad2@gmail.com.

Don’t always have cash! PAC Punch Lunch cards are a convenient way to pay for hot lunches. The cards are $20 and have increments of .50 to get $2.00 and get punched as students spend. They are available for purchase in the school office. For more information please email Teresa mason92@telus.net.

Milk Money!!

Did you know Village Market supports local schools with their milk money program. They donate to the school of your choice with every purchase of a 4L of milk. You can change or choose your school by updating your value card information. All funds go back to the students*

Election Time – All PAC positions come up for election every year. The election for president and treasurer will take place at our May 10th meeting. All parents are welcome. If you are interested in any position for the new year please email Teresa mason92@telus.net. The next PAC meeting is April 12th at 7pm in the Library. Everyone’s welcome!!

Monday – Exploratory Forms returned to Foyer in morning until recess. After that to the office only. DO NOT RETURN TO CLASSROOM TEACHER

Book Fair begins today – Come check out the latest Scholastic has to offer in the multi-purpose room. We are open all every day (see hours above) until Thursday evening at the Open House.

Dragon’s Den – Creative writing club meets in the main computer lab at lunch

PAC Food Day – Sushi and Hotdogs today. Drinks and other goodies also for sale. Volunteers are needed. Please contact the school if you can lend a hand for an hour at least once per month.
