Dear JMS Parents/Caregivers,

Thank you so much for your support in getting this year off to a great start!

On October 31st, PAC will be selling cookies from the Crazy Cookie House for $2 and popcorn bags for $1 during lunch!! Send your student in with their money if they want to participate!

We are also getting ready for our next fundraiser! PAC is selling Community Value coupon books!! These books have amazing deals worth up to $5000. They are $35 each and a portion of that goes to the PAC to help fund amazing opportunities for our students. This year PAC has created a budget that has support for classroom field trips and curricular learning as well as support for the ADST classes. To do this, we need to fundraise! We have let the students know about the fundraiser and have asked them to bring their book and order form home to you. Please check with them to make sure you get it.

If you would like to order please see the order form for how to pay. We are encouraging students to sell as many books as they can to win some awesome prizes! But, we have reminded them not to go door to door. We want them to be safe. If you are paying cash or cheque, please return payment and the order form with your student by November 10th. If you would like to pay by e-transfer please include your students name in the subject and don’t forget to return your order form! Books and prizes will be sent home as orders come in!

If you do not want to sell the book, please have your student return the book asap to their classroom teacher. We are asking students to make sure that they are not damaged and that no coupons are removed. The first class to return all their books and orders will win a class party courtesy of the PAC!

If you have any questions please reach out to journeymiddleschoolpac@gmail.com

Thanks for your support!!

Terry Fox Run October 6th

“Toonies for Terry” is a fundraiser for every division. We encourage students to donate a toonie if they would like to help towards the Terry Fox Foundation. Our school goal is
$1000.00 again this year!
Students and staff can either run the Terry Fox Run (5km – 2 laps) or walk the Terry Fox Run (~3km – 1 lap).  The run is slightly different this year due to the construction on Throup
Road. The route is designed so students and staff can stay off of main road and runners can remain on the sidewalk.

Schedule:
9:55 – Classes are called down to the assembly
9:55 – 10:25 – Terry Fox Assembly in the gymnasium
10:25 – 10:30 – Students and staff organize at the start line
10:30 – 11:30 – Students and staff participate in the Terry Fox Run
11:30 – Students and staff should be back to class
———Lunch Time———
12:30 – 1:50 – Grade 8 students run a Fun Day for the grade 6’s and 7’s with 4 different activity centres

Thursday, September 28, 2023, 10:54am – Please advise an accident involving a Hydro Pole on Church Road is causing a closure of the road between Throup and Wadams Way.

Fire crews are currently on the scene and Hydro is en route to repair the pole. Repairs are expected to take the most of the day, so please expect delays.

More to come, as available.
