This Week @ Journey May 22-26

Staffing Update – We are pleased to welcome back to Journey Ms. Jess Petersen. Ms. Petersen has worked at Journey before as an Integration Support Teacher and will be returning to us in the late Fall to teach grade 7. Ms. Nicky Nadeau will also rejoin our Dragon Team this time as a grade 8 teacher. Ms. Nadeau previously taught grade 6 at Journey. Coming to Journey from SD61 is local resident, Ms. Benula Larsen. Ms. Larsen will be teaching grade 6 French Immersion.

Facilities Update – Our Playground is official open! Thank you PAC! Our gym should be open this week. Most of the wall space has been repainted and is looking so much better. This summer we are scheduled to have our floors refinished.

The PAC is holding an Online Auction on Facebook and you are invited! The money raised will go towards our much needed emergency preparedness preparations.

Anyone can bid. Just click that you will be attending the “Online Auction for Journey Middle School” on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/events/2234649040094230).

Bidding starts on the 22nd of May.   Items will be added every day until June 5, 2017. If you have questions or wish to donate an item to the auction please email: Erika at erikas1977@shaw.ca.

Journey and EMCS Musical Theatre presents “Time Flies” at EMCS on June 7, 8, and 9 at 7 pm. Tickets are on sale at Shoppers, EMCS and Journey Middle School. Journey students from 12 Divisions will be attending a special presentation of “Time Flies” at EMCS on June 8, at 10 am. Thank you PAC for paying for the buses. Journey Musical Theatre student’s rehearsal schedule: May 25 and June 1, at EMCS afterschool until 6 pm. June 5, dress rehearsal after school until 7:30ish. “Break a Leg”!

Tea Time in Foyer – students can enjoy a free cup of tea today at recess. Students are encouraged to bring their own mugs.

Div. 9/10 Homework Club – Ms. Kilpatrick’s classroom at lunch

Divisions 1 & 2 Math Support – at lunch in Mr. Constable’s room

Div. 11 Math Club – after school 3-4 p.m. in Ms. Dvorak’s room

Thursday

Exploratories – remember equipment and proper clothing if needed. Work habit marks will be reflected on your report card. Today we welcome Saseenos Elementary grade 5 students for their transition visit.

Robotics Club meets after school today 3:15-4:30 pm. This is the last meeting of the year.

Friday

Spaghetti in a Big Red Cup $5. Pre-orders taken all week. Forms available from classroom teachers or the office.
