This Week @ Journey October 24-28

Dressing for the weather – Students are expected to head outside at recess and lunch. Please remind your child to dress for the weather, the forecasted weather and the unexpected weather. Usually all three of those mean wet weather. Students may also want to bring an extra set of clothes to change into if they get too wet to learn after being outside.

Volunteers needed – if you can donate some time at the Halloween Dance on Thursday as a chaperone or helping sell food please contact Sandy Hull at 250-642-5881.

Lego Mindstorms Robotics: The club will be taking a brief break and will start up again Thursday, November 17th.  Times 3:15-4:30!

Tuesday

Grade 6/7 Boys’ Basketball practice 7:30 a.m. in the gym

Jazz band 8:30 a.m. in the band room.

Sk8 Club today @ lunch (weather permitting). Waivers must be in to Mr. Donegani or Mr. Kovacik to be eligible to participate (forms are in the office)

Haunted house tickets on sale at lunch for 50 cents each. Come out and enjoy this fun event at Thursday’s Halloween Dance.

Thursday

Halloween Dance Tonight – Come and join in the fun from 6:30-8:30 pm. Dress up and enjoy dancing and hanging out with friends. No masks and keep the gore to a minimum. Tickets will not be sold at the door and students must be in attendance all day to attend.

There will be prizes for:

• Best make-up
• Most scary
• Most funny
• Most creative
• Most realistic
• Cutest
• Most traditional
• Most original
• Best homemade costume

Activities other than dancing:

Photo booth, haunted house, glow sticks, PAC food for sale (pizza, drinks, goodies etc.)

Pumpkin Carving Contest – Carve your pumpkin at home and bring in your Jack-o’-lanterns today and enter our annual contest. They will be on display at the dance tonight.

Spookagrams on sale today at lunch for 50 cents each. Delivery on Monday to the classroom.

Exploratories – Remember to bring everything you need and that students are expected to take this course as much as any other.  Outdoor exploratories will be outside. We live on the Wet Coast – be prepared!
