PAC Executive Positions for 2022-2023

Journey Middle School has three PAC Executive positions that need to be filled for the 2022/23 school year.

The positions are:
       1. Vice President
       2. Treasurer
       3. Secretary

PAC is the officially recognized collective voice of parents of their school. A PAC, through its elected officers, may advise the school board, the principal and staff of the school respecting any matter relating to the education of the students and the school.

PACs are forums within each school community to discuss matters affecting your school and the education of your children. Parents’ voices are a tremendous value to their school. They offer a wealth of ideas and support in the challenges that face all public schools. PACs strive to represent the diversity within their communities and contribute to the benefit of all students by:

• providing opportunities to educate and inform parents about the school;
• involving parents in volunteer activities; and
• openly discussing parents’ concerns and aspirations for their schools.

All parents and guardians of students registered in the school are able to participate and are members of the PAC.

Journey Middle School requires a PAC Executive to be eligible to receive its yearly gaming grant which provides funding of $20 per student which equals over $10,000 a year for Journey.

The funding provided through the gaming grant is used for example to support field trips, presentations or performances, PAC school spirit events, sports equipment, student ceremonies and so on.

If you are interested in joining the PAC Executive nominations will be held during the Tuesday, May 10 PAC meeting which starts at 7 p.m. – The new Executive PAC members will then attend the Tuesday, June 14 PAC meeting at 7 p.m. with the existing PAC Executive to transition the duties.
