Student-Lead Conferences @ Journey

We are looking forward to welcoming families to Journey for our Student-Lead Conferences tomorrow, Wednesday, November 20.  Teachers will be in their classrooms and around the school to welcome you to stop in any time between 4:30-7:30 p.m.   Students have been preparing their work and are eager to show you what they’ve been working on. 

You will also notice that most teachers have moved away from traditional report cards.  The Ministry of Education has been working on new ways to communicate student progress and SD62 has been involved in changing our methods over the last year.  You will receive the same number of progress reports over the year; however, there are no set dates for reporting.  We no longer necessarily give out traditional grades (A, B, C+, C, C-) during this transitionary year and instead you may see Extending, Proficient, Developing and Emerging.  Some of you will have already received progress reports and everyone should receive information from their teacher(s) by the middle of December.  FAST and Hockey Academy will be available through the Parent Portal in MyEd on December 6 and the final, summative reports from divisional teachers will also be available through MyEd in June.
