Well, this is it! Thank you to all our families for your support over the past year. We wish all of our grade eight students good luck in their new high schools and know they will do well. To our grade six and seven students returning next year we wish you a very happy summer. For students and families moving from Sooke, we hope you remember your time here fondly and that you are happy in your new adventures. As always, it has been an honour and a privilege to work with your children this year.

Monday

Let the Games Begin – Today we kick off the day with activities around the school. Several of the activities involve water so bring a change of clothes and a towel! Remember a hat and sunscreen too. We had planned to have the Crispy Fish Truck, but they had to cancel at the last minute. Hot Dogs, juice boxes, snacks, snow cones, freezies, and cupcakes will be on sale so stuff your pockets with some extra cash! All proceeds today go to the Nicholas Watson Scholarship Fund.

Jouro – this afternoon all students and staff will go to the Jouro! Wear your team colours and help your class win the coveted trophy this year.

Mr. Elm and Ms. Dvorak’s classes off to Commonwealth Pool – Remember your bathing suits, towels and lunch!

Tuesday

Today we begin with a pancake breakfast compliments of our generous Sooke Lions Club. Every student will receive two pancakes with lots of syrup.

Term Three Recognition Assembly – 10:30 a.m. in the gym. We will honour all Grade 6 & 7 students who earned Effort Role, Club and/or Team certificates. Families are welcome to attend.

Jouro Finals – wear your colours again as the final teams battle it out for the ultimate prize.

Wednesday

Last Day of School!

Grade 8 Bon Voyage today beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the gym. This event is for grade 8 students and their families. Students will enjoy a luncheon following the ceremony (this year the students raised enough money to purchase all the food).

Thursday – Report Card Pick up Day – Report Cards will be available for pick up in the classroom 9-Noon. From 1-4 p.m. they will be available in the office. Report cards cannot be picked up early and will be available Friday and all the following week.

Happy Canada Day on Saturday! Come out to the Sooke Flats and join in the celebration and see what our finalists entered in the 150 Contest.
