Domo Arigato/Thank you to our Journey families for hosting students from Natori, Japan for six days! You have shown amazing hospitality and it has been greatly appreciated. It has been fun to interact with our own students as well over Spring Break. Information about our trip to Japan 2018 will be available at the Open House on April 12.

Report Cards – If you didn’t pick up your report card they are available from your child’s teacher until Wednesday, and then you can pick it up in the office.

Monday

Term officially 3 Begins today – grade 6 & 7 students will begin their final MAD rotation, grade 8 students will begin their new Applied Skills rotations, and Hockey Academy students return to regular class rotation

Grade 7 & 8 Community Band practice 7:30-8:30/9:30.

Cowichan Tzinquaw Dancers – whole school performance 1:30-2:30 this afternoon in the gym

さようなら/Sayōnara Potluck in Gym 6 pm – Families and students will meet for a farewell to our Japanese Friends from Natori this evening in the gym.

Tuesday

Students from Japan say goodbye to their host students and leave for Vancouver at 10:30 am

Block 4-all Grade 6 and 7 band students meet for combined rehearsal in the band room.

Strings -5:30-7:45 pm (band room, no Grade 6 students)

Jazz band 8:30 a.m. in the band room.

Tea Time in Foyer – students can enjoy a free cup of tea today at recess. Students are encouraged to bring their own mugs.

Culture Club – meet at lunch outside Ab Ed room 

Yearbook Committee – meets today in the Main Lab @ lunch

Div. 9/10 Homework Club – Ms. Kilpatrick’s classroom at lunch

Divisions 1 & 2 Math Support – at lunch in Mr. Constable’s room

Div. 11 – Homework Support at lunch in Ms. Dvorak’s room

Div. 11 Math Club – after school 3-4 p.m. in Ms. Dvorak’s room

Wednesday – PAC Lunch today is Pizza. Thank you to our volunteers who come out and help, we appreciate your commitment! New volunteers are always welcome.

Conference Manager opens – Parent/Teacher Conferences are available April 12 from 1-4:00 pm. if you would like to meet with your child’s teacher.   To book your time please go to the links and book your time beginning at 6 a.m. this morning.  We will be welcoming all families at our Open House from 5:30-7:30 pm the same evening.

Off to the Mainland – three of our students, Mary-Anne K., Aodhan T., and Zander H. have been chosen to attend the Provincial Robotics Championships in Abbottsford. Good luck to them and their coach Ms. Dvorak. Mr. Bedard will also be attending as Junior Woodworking Technical Chair and Robotics judge.

Clarinet sectional– practice today at 10:00-11:30 am for clarinet players in Grades 7 and 8

Block 4-all Grade 7 band students and Grade 8 trumpets meet in band room for combined rehearsal

Commit to Fit – The Victoria Shamrocks are putting on a workshop today for Ms. Barnes & Mr. Sulzen’s PE Classes Block 2

Lego builders club – canceled for today

Div. 9/10 Homework Club – Ms. Maragh’s classroom at lunch

Math Support – at lunch in Mr. Constable’s room for Divisions 1 & 2

Thursday

Term 2 Recognition Assembly – Students who earned Honour Roll and/or Effort Role for term two will receive certificates today beginning at 1:30 pm.

Robotics Club – Ms. Dvorak’s room afterschool today from 3-4 pm. Learn and have some fun!

Gamers’ Club at lunch in the Main Lab
