This Week @ Journey January 16-20

Exploratories – students who have not handed in their exploratory form will be assigned one. Students in Mt. Biking or Boxing need to hand in their waiver forms by Thursday or he/she will be assigned to another exploratory not requiring a waiver.

Journey to Japan – Thank you to the families who have signed up to host Japanese students this year. We still have spaces available (all male spots are filled). If you are interested in finding out more please see Ms. Dvorak or Mr. Bedard for more information. Build friendships with our neighbours across the ocean.

Tea Time in Foyer – students can enjoy a free cup of tea today at recess. Students are encouraged to bring their own mugs.

Sk8 Club today @ lunch (weather permitting). Waivers must be in to Mr. Donegani or Mr. Kovacik to be eligible to participate (forms are in the office)

Culture Club – meet at lunch outside Ab Ed room

Wednesday – PAC Lunch today is Subway “VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO HELP WITH THE LUNCHES. Please come to the main foyer at 11:30am if you can help. Thank you!”  

Her Honour, Judith Guichon Lieutenant Governor of BC will visit our school at 10:30 this morning. She will be speaking about celebrating Canada’s 150 years of Confederation. Families are invited to attend.

Late French Immersion – Information Meeting Tonight 6:30 pm. We are excited to offer Late French Immersion at Journey for the 2017-18 school year. Students currently in grade five at our elementary schools will be eligible to register beginning Monday, January 23. Parents can register online or in person at Journey.

Thursday

Robotics Club – Interested in learning more about Robotics? Come to Ms. Dvorak’s room afterschool today from 3-4 pm and have some fun!

Presentation – Thanks to our PAC sponsorship, Journey will enjoy the talents of Hypnotist, Scott Ward. Mr. Ward visited our school two years ago and was a big hit.

Volleyball Practice – Boys in grades 6 & 7 interested in playing volleyball on our school team this year have a practice afterschool from 3-4 in the gym.

Friday

Gr. 8 Boys’ and Girls’ Volleyball practice 7:30-8:30 am

Hockey Academy visits to Elementary schools – Coach Elm will be visiting grade five students to talk to them about the Hockey Academy at Journey. Registration opens February 1 for new and returning students.

Chess Club @ lunch in Mrs. Syme’s class. Beginners and experts are welcome to join in.
