This Week @ Journey June 13-17

What a week at Journey! Our Musical Theatre students brought back the ‘80s in their song and dance extravaganza all week. It brought back some memories with the neon colours, big hair and music! Thank you to parent volunteers and Mrs. Fader for making this happen. It was also an experience to work with talented EMCS students and perform in the Theatre. Thanks again to PAC for funding the buses.

Thanks to Mr. Dunbar’s organizing, hard work and energy that provided two days of friendly Jouro completion on our field. Students were out in all their team colours and our cheerleaders keep everyone’s spirits up. It came down to a shootout between Mr. Hopkins/Quint’s grade 6/7 class and Ms. Wien’s grade 8 class. It took several shots and in the end the Grade 8s pulled off the victory!

Can it really be half way through June already? With only twelve days of school remaining there are many field trips planned and work left to complete. Teachers are beginning to gather student work and look over the term for report cards. Please help your child stay focused during these last exciting and stressful days by asking about what’s due, signing permission forms, and asking them to bring home all those clothes they have stuffed in their lockers!

Camping Trip – Ms. Barnes, Ms. Wiens, Ms. Bridal and Mme. Abell’s classes head off to French Beach for their year-end camping trip. Back for all kinds of Westcoast weather!

Field Trip – Mr. Nguyen has arranged a field trip to Chinatown and IMAX.

Whole School Grounds Clean-up during Advisory – right after attendance.

Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert – Our Rock ‘n’ Roll Exploratory will play for us today 

Fire Pit – Ms. Johnston’s class will gather around our fire pit this afternoon for a marshmallow roast.

Concert Tonight – Come out and enjoy our Drumline and Orchestra program as they play with the Sooke Philharmonic at the Community Hall -7:30pm. Everyone welcome
