Congratulations to Mindstorm Robotics Club for participating and finishing 5th at their tournament recently. Coaches Mme. Bouvier and Ms. Dvorak, were full of admiration and compliments for how well they represented themselves and our school. A big thank you to parents Mr. Harrison, Mr. Hasset, Mrs. Lowerison for chaperoning the ski trip and to Mrs. Johnston, Mr. Elm, Mr. Kovacik, Mr. Barrie and Mr. Vriend for coming along and helping out. Your assistance was greatly appreciated. The biggest thanks to the many awesome grade 6, 7 and 8 students for representing Journey in such a positive way. Well done Journey Middle School! See you next year on the slopes.

Personal Communication Devices at school – Students are welcome to bring their phones and other devices to school provided they do not take away from the learning of themselves and/or others. Students using their devices in such a manner will be asked to take them to the office where they will be stored securely until the end of the day. Please also refrain from texting, tweeting, FBing, phoning etc. your child while they are in class.
EMCS Open House – It was wonderful to see so many students and families at the Open House. Talk about outstanding results from the Provincial Exams – course after course of beating the District and Provincial results! And who knew they offered so many dual credit courses with Camosun College – free of charge!

Hockey Academy – Online Registration is open. Applications must be completed online https://academies.sd62.bc.ca. Grade 8 Square Dancing – All grade eight classes will have square dancing lessons with a pro today. This is a culmination of Dance Units many have been working on. School Dance – “Bring on Spring Dance” tonight from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. Students should arrive on time and be picked up by a parent at 8:30. No in and out privileges allowed for safety reasons. Parents are welcome/needed to help chaperone and/or help in the concession.

Ice Hockey Game – Today is the annual grade 8/9 Hockey Academy Game at SEAPARC. Classes have been invited to attend from 9 – 10. Participating classes will be walking to and from the arena via the Throup Road trail. Parents are welcome to attend.
“Time for Dragon Hockey” (not to be confused with Hockey Academy) “We are holding our first organizing meeting to talk about the Journey Inter Mural Floor Hockey Tournament at lunch today. Just bring your fun hockey attitude and a few of your classmates/teammates and we’ll get started. You’ll be able to size up the Teacher Team of All Stars then. They can’t wait to show off their hockey prowess!”
