Technology is taught in grade 6,7, and 8.
In grade six computer science we cover internet safety, keyboarding ergonomics and fluency, how computers work, and an introduction to computer programming. In grade 7 we delve deeper into programming, look at online safety again, and keep up our keyboarding fluency. Finally, in grade 8 we take what we learned about programming in grade 7 and apply it to our own programs in grade 8, create our own website using HTML and CSS, look at copyright and the internet, and continue with keyboarding. You might notice a recurrent theme with the important skill of keyboarding. Students are expected to practice keyboarding fluency at home or at school when the computer lab is open at breaks.
