Monday – Island Sexual Health continued to work with our grade 8s in covering the PHE Curriculum.

Tuesday –Many classes traveled to Royal Road University to participate in the National Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Additionally, a couple classes went to Ella beach and Divisions 5 & 6 went to the Horne Lake Caves for the day.

Wednesday – It was FUN DAY!!! Thank you so much to our parent volunteers who came to help!! It was a great day and it was fantastic to see all the smiling faces and laughter. A couple classes went to Thetis Lake and tried paddle boarding.

Thursday and Friday were dedicated to our Jouro Soccer tournament (think Euro Cup, but Journey style). Amazing work by Mr. Vine in his organization and thank you to the EMCS soccer academy leadership students who came to help ref the games and appearances by players from the Pacific Football Club. Students were excited to get autographs and a discount code is already posted on our website. Hope you can join in this weekend!

Next week

Classes will be cleaning out lockers and teachers will be starting to close up their classrooms. A reminder that any fieldtrips that take classes away from the school are still expected to follow our code of conduct regarding behaviour and language.

Monday – we will have several grade 8 classes leaving early in the morning to head to Vancouver and Playland for the day.

In the evening (6:30 – 8:00 pm) in the Journey gym, parents are invited to come to a collaborative evening with many community partners, district staff, PAC, school trustees and the old and new Journey admin staff. Please come if you are available!

Tuesday – in the afternoon (1 – 2:30 pm) we will be holding our grade 8 celebration picnic in the back of the school. Information is already posted on the website. If you available to volunteer, please let Trudy Fraser, our PAC president know asap. She can be reached at hunni8205@gmail.com .

Wednesday – the last day for students!! Report Cards will be available to access on the Parent MyEd portal. A video be created for families to support understanding of how to access to MyEdBC for Summative Reports.

Exciting information for our school community as the district has approved a Blended learning site out in the Sooke community for next fall. If you are interested, please contact hlait@sd62.bc.ca . This program involves four days online and one day onsite.

LUNCHES – we had been told that our lunch delivery would end as of June 22, however, they are still arriving! We have taken our extras and frozen them. If there are any families would could benefit from receiving some extra food, please let us know at the school and we can arrange pick up.
