“People Run to Be Here” – thank you the numerous families who came out to our Meet the Journey Family Evening last Thursday. It was wonderful getting to know you better and I hope you also know the staff at JMS a little better too.

Community Info: Harmony Project Sooke is beginning its fall classes now. Two classes in Drumline and 3 classes in strings are offered.  Modeled after the Harmony Project in Los Angeles, Harmony Project Sooke is a non-profit society that provides musical instruments and instruction to children and youth in the Sooke area.  Classes take place outside of school time and meet at Journey Middle School.  Students not only learn in classes but they also perform in ensembles and orchestras throughout the year both in school concerts and at other community events.  HPS is keen to invite students in grade six and up to join drumline. Strings start lessons for students in Grade 2-3 and progress up from there.  For info, please contact Lorna Bjorklund at sookeharmonyproject@shaw.ca or telephone 250-642-6681.
