Thank you to our families and staff today for making arrangements for students who usually walk home to get picked up or make other arrangements. It was a little hectic, but everyone did their part and it is greatly appreciated.
After consulting with both the Conservation Officer and RCMP regarding the sightings of the cougar, Poirier and Journey followed their expert advice. Our superintendent, Scott Stinson happened to be in Sooke and provided support as well.
Our Meet the Journey Family is still on for tonight (6-7:30 p.m.), but to avoid attracting the cougar, or any other large animals, we have been advised to not cook hot dogs. Juice boxes and bottles of water will still be served!
See you soon!
