Grade 6 Immunizations: Recently, immunization consent packages for grade 6 students were sent home from the school. If you have not already done so, please return the completed consent form to the school in a sealed envelope by Monday, October 15.  Students in grade 6 will be offered immunizations in school-based clinics with the consent of a parent(s), guardian or representative. Please contact the local Health Unit at 250 519-3487 and ask to speak with a Public Health Nurse if you have any questions.

Immunizations will be provided at the school for grade 6 students on October 24, 2018.

Journey Middle School – Custom Sneakers: Professionally created by Zeevy Customs, these sneakers were designed to represent Journey Middle School and its limitless potential.  The base shoes are an original design from Six Hundred Four in Vancouver, British Columbia.  Six Hundred Four shoes are very limited edition and are made in Vietnam with the highest quality leather.

Zac Vine is a teacher at Journey Middle School and is the artist and director of Zeevy Customs. Over the last 6 years, Zeevy Customs has designed custom sneakers for athletes and entertainers from across the globe. Some of his celebrity clientele include Aroldis Chapman, Demar DeRozan, Def Leppard, Drake, Logic, and Corey Taylor. He wanted to support his school and his community, and thus created these unique custom sneakers to be auctioned off with all proceeds going to towards Journey Middle School’s trip to Europe in the Spring. Auction start date is Oct 15th 2018 on the Journey Middle School Parents Facebook page.

Grade 6/7 Girls Basketball: practice at lunch

Robot Club starts today: 3:15-4:30 Meet Edison. Suitable for students who have not used robots before, are just beginning or want to create fun robotic designs, do great challenges and learn to code using scratch. Meet in Ms. Dvorak’s room at 3:15 after having a snack.

Grade 8 Boys Basketball: Practice after school 3:00-5:00

 

Tuesday

Tea in the Foyer @ recess – all students are welcome to stop by with their mugs and get a cup of herbal tea compliments of Ms. Shannon.  If you forget your cup today she will have a disposable one for you!

Skatepark club @ lunch break – You can bring skateboards, scooters, BMX bikes (no mountain bikes) or rollerblades and join this fast paced club.

Grade 6/7 Boys Basketball: Practice at lunch

 

Wednesday

Lunch- Subway @ lunch.  $3.50 per sandwich.  Chips, water and juice boxes also available for $1 to purchase.  Munch Cards and cash accepted.

Skatepark club @ lunch break – You can bring skateboards, scooters, BMX bikes (no mountain bikes) or rollerblades and join this fast paced club.

Robot Club: 3:15-4:30 Meet LEGO’s EV-3 Robot. Suitable for students who have participated in the Meet Edison group, went to the EV-3 jamboree, or have had experience with Lego EV-3 robots before! Come on down! We are going to have fun! Meet in Ms. Dvorak’s room at 3:15 after having a snack.

Grade 8 Boys Basketball: Practice after school 3-4:30

Cross Country Meet: at West Shore Parks and Rec Centre. First race is at 3:45.

 

Thursday

BC SHAKE OUT: Journey will be participating in the 2018 Great British Columbia Shakeout. We will practice our earthquake protocol with millions of people worldwide on Thursday morning.
