Continuing to Celebrate Earth Day!

Journey BROOM BASH is underway and COMMUNITY PARTNERS ARE BEING ARRANGED. DATES to be announced shortly. Please let Liz Stannard if you are interested in helping lstannard@sd62.bc.ca Classes will be able to participate in Broom Removal and Management with volunteer experts. 

Yearbook – Many students have pre-purchased their yearbook; however, there is still time if you want to have one delivered in June. April 30 is the absolute last day to pre-purchase (we don’t order extras). $40 (cash or cheque payable to SD62) in the office. A receipt will be issued to you.

Help support the Journey Middle School Band who are raising funds for band trips in 2019.   Paint night gives you everything you need to create a one-of-a-kind painting. The artist will guide you and your friends through two lively hours of creativity and laughing ‘til your cheeks hurt. The best part? You don’t have to be an artist to have an amazing time. This is a non-alcohol event.

2nd annual Journey Middle School Online Facebook auction will start May 20th and end June 3rd. The PAC raises money for emergency preparedness, field trips, fun things for our kids like the new Archery Tag equipment, and so much more!  Anyone can bid. Bidding starts on the 20th of May.   Items will be added every day until June 3, 2017. 

We still need auction items!! Do you have a business you would like to promote or do you have new items at home that were gifts that you were planning on re-gifting anyways? We would love to auction them off to raise money for our school! If you can donate an item to the auction please email: Erika at erikas1977@shaw.ca.

Monday 

Quarter 4 FAST rotation begins today. Students will move into their final rotation of the year! 

Final day to get waivers in for Exploratories. Students will be placed in another exploratory that does not require a waiver. 

Tickets available at lunch in the foyer all this week for Jumanji $5 each or $10 per Family. Come and watch the movie on the big screen in our Gym. Movie starts at 6:30 p.m. so come a little early and by your popcorn and goodie bags and enjoy. You’re welcome to come in your PJs and something soft to sit on! 

Rugby Practices for Girls and Boys teams after school. 

Robotics after school (LEGO) 3:15 – 4:30 is cancelled today. Ms. Dvorak is away facilitating a workshop in Port Alberni. They heard how good our club was and want to get one started there as well!

Calling all Hackergals NEW and EXPERIENCED – Meeting in Ms Dvorak’s Room on WEDNESDAY April 25th. Calling all Girls: Did you try HackerGals last December and loved it? Are you interested in what all the excitement is about? Are you interested in learning more about coding and game design with a cool platform? Come join the HackerGal initiative.

Team and Whole School Photos today. Listen for announcements calling down the many teams and clubs we have at Journey. We will also gather for a whole school photo.

April 25th Mandatory Meeting Regarding the Horne Lake Field Trip for Division 8 and 11

Ms. Gitzel and Ms. Dvorak are having a mandatory meeting on April 25th at 6:30 pm in the multi-purpose room regarding the Grade 7 Horne Lake Field Trip on June 13, 14 and 15, 2018.
